Arko Foods International is more than your regular Asian grocery store—it’s a spot where local Filipinos and Asian food enthusiasts in Glendale come to connect with authentic flavors and homey dishes. Located on E Colorado St, this place is especially lively in the mornings, when the counter fills up with freshly cooked Filipino breakfast staples like tocino and longanisa. Early visits bring the opportunity to scoop up these hot meals before the lunch crowd rolls in.

While the aisles are stocked with a wide range of Filipino kitchen essentials, it’s the hot food counter and ready-to-eat options that draw many visitors. The cooks bring regional diversity from the Philippines into the kitchen, ensuring you can find specialties reflective of Ilocos, Pampanga, Visayas, and Batangas cuisines—making it a meaningful spot for locals craving those particular tastes.

People often come here to pick up familiar ingredients not easily found elsewhere in the area, but what really sets Arko apart is its balance between a grocery store and a casual eatery. Outdoor seating is available, so customers can grab their snacks or meals and enjoy them right on-site, which makes it a practical stop after work or for a quick, satisfying bite during the day.

The atmosphere is straightforward and welcoming, centered on food quality and consistency. Staff have maintained strong food safety standards that help make this a trustworthy choice for both takeout and dine-in. Parking is generally accessible, which adds to the convenience for those stopping by from nearby neighborhoods or passing through Glendale.

In essence, Arko Foods serves well anyone in search of authentic Filipino flavors—whether you’re after breakfast, lunch, or a sweet traditional dessert. It’s ideal for longtime locals staying connected to home tastes and newcomers eager to explore Filipino food culture in an informal, community-grounded setting.

Went here to buy lumpiang sariwa and found out that it is mostly Filipino products. We came here so early after work as they open. Ate breakfast tocino and longanisa. As we check out the place they are filling up the counter with all of the new cooked food for the day and maybe next time will order for lunch or dinner.

I always like coming here cause it has almost the taste of the Philippines and then some... On this review I want to point out that it has been a long journey for the cooks to maintain the usa standards when it comes to handling the food so now I can give them a 5 star for taste and service...

I've been visiting Arko for years because they have the best Filipino food in LA. That is a statement that many many local Filipinos would agree with. Arko is an establishment. Their cooks are from different regions of the Philippines and cook the specialities of those places--llocos, Pampanga, Visaya, Batangas...I'm sure there are more. My mom is llocano and she loves their Dinengdeng and Igado. The food is consistent and SO tasty. I find I'm always looking for their Puso ng Saging (banana hearts), Ginataang Langka (coconut jackfruit), Adobo, and Bilo Bilo (purple dessert).

Love coming here! The food being sold here is authentic filipino food! My favorite is the beef steak, I can eat it all day! The store is also amazingly stocked of all filipino kitchen necessities! Even moving out of state I make sure I can stop by here and eat the delicious food! Anything you need can mostly be found here easily. You also have the option to buy your food and eat it at their outside dinning area. You don't have to worry about missing anything when shopping here! The staff here are also super friendly and are always willing to help you find things you need. Also if there are some things you need, the staff takes notes on it to see the average needs and hopefully they bring it in their store. Always worth coming and shopping here! I promise you won't regret shopping. I wish they had more branches across the state but also in America. Im almost convinced in applying for a job here just to get the recipe for their food cuz that's how much I absolutely love their food here! I will be coming back here every time I visit California again! Thank you!

Arko is an Asian Supermarket that also sells Filipino food & dessert. I came here specifically to have some traditional Filipino dessert and boy oh boy….it did not disappoint! I forgot mostly the names of the dessert but I had sapin-sapin and it was dee-lee-cious! They also have tables & chairs outside where u can eat and it helps that there’s free parking, too. 1 to 10 and I would rate my dessert a solid 10! It was soooo good I came back the following day! So worth it!

I saw a video about this spot on Instagram. I drive by here several times a year on my way to Eagle Rock/Highland Park from Atwater Village but would never have thought to stop. They have a huge selection of "fast food" in vats and bins and you take a number and they bag it up for you. No signs so you have to guess, though it's easy to recognize a curry or a pad Thai type dish. I bought some of the pad Thai looking stuff and two pork skewers and two banana egg rolls for desert. Really great value though the heavy reliance on pork means a lot of Angelenos (including my partner) can't eat a lot of what's here. The staff are not there to help you. Most everyone was speaking tagalog.
